Effective Date: August 1, 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how Respawn ("Respawn," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you access and use the Respawn platform, including all services, features, content, and applications (collectively, the "Services").

Your privacy is important to us. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Please be aware that the Services provided by Respawn are currently experimental and in a developmental phase. As such, while we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security or uninterrupted service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect various types of information to provide and improve our Services, including:

1.1. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: When you create an account, you provide us with your username, email address, password, and any other information you choose to provide (e.g., profile picture, display name).
  • Communications: When you communicate with us (e.g., customer support inquiries, feedback, survey responses), we collect the content of your communications and any associated contact information.
  • Payment Information: If you purchase paid services (e.g., premium subscriptions, server packages), our third-party payment processors collect your payment information (e.g., credit card details). We do not directly store your full payment card details.
  • User-Generated Content (UGC): Any content you create, upload, post, transmit, or otherwise make available through the Services, such as custom maps, forum posts, chat messages, or gameplay recordings.

1.2. Information Collected Automatically

When you access or use our Services, we may automatically collect certain information about your device and your activity, including:

  • Usage Data: Information about how you use the Services, such as games played, features used, time spent, interactions with other users, and in-game activities.
  • Device Information: Information about the device you use to access the Services, including IP address, device identifiers, operating system, browser type, language settings, and hardware specifications.
  • Log Data: Server logs may include your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (e.g., web beacons, pixels) to collect information about your browsing activities, remember your preferences, and deliver personalized content and advertisements. For more details on our use of these technologies, please see our separate Cookie Policy.

1.3. Information Collected by Anti-Cheat Technologies

To ensure fair gameplay and maintain the integrity of our competitive platform, Respawn implements anti-cheat and anti-tampering technologies. These technologies may collect extensive data from your device, including:

  • System Information: Details about your operating system, running processes, and installed software.
  • Memory Scans: Analysis of your computer's random access memory (RAM) for patterns indicative of cheating software.[1, 2, 3]
  • Game-Related Files and Folders: Scanning of game-related and system-related files and folders on your system using cheat-program-identifying algorithms.[1]
  • Network Activity: Monitoring of network traffic for suspicious patterns.[4]
  • Hardware Identifiers: Collection of device identifiers and hardware serial numbers.[5, 1]
  • Behavioral Analysis: Monitoring player behavior (e.g., movement speed, jump height, firing rate) to identify suspicious patterns.[4]
  • IP Address and Game Account Information: Your Internet Protocol address, game account name, and in-game nickname.[5, 1]

You acknowledge that such data collection is necessary for the purpose of detecting and preventing cheating, and that these technologies may operate at a deep system level (e.g., kernel-level access) to effectively identify unauthorized modifications or programs.[2, 3, 6, 7]

1.4. Information Collected by Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect data about how users interact with our Services. The data collected by GA4 includes but is not limited to: the number of users, session statistics, approximate geolocation, and information about your browser and device.[8] To distinguish unique users and their sessions, GA4 uses a first-party cookie called _ga to store a client ID.[9, 10]

1.5. Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from third parties, such as:

  • Game Developers/Publishers: Information from third-party game developers whose games you play through our platform.
  • Social Media Platforms: If you link your Respawn account with a third-party social media service.

3. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information with third parties in the following circumstances:

  • With Your Consent: We may share your information when you give us explicit consent to do so.
  • Service Providers: We engage third-party service providers to perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, payment processing, analytics, customer support, and anti-cheat services. These providers have access to your information only to perform these tasks and are obligated not to disclose or use it for other purposes.
  • With Google: We share data with Google Analytics to analyze and improve the platform. This data is subject to Google's own privacy policies and is processed for our benefit.[8, 12]

  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • Aggregated or Anonymized Data: We may share aggregated or anonymized information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. For anti-cheat data, information indicating known cheat patterns may be stored for the duration of our agreement with anti-cheat providers to serve as evidence.[11] Data not indicating suspicious activity is typically discarded within a shorter period (e.g., 5 days to 3 months).[11]

5. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. For Google Analytics 4, a significant portion of the data processing occurs on servers located in the United States.[12, 13] By using the Services, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside of your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws than your country. We will take appropriate measures to ensure that your personal information remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

8. Children's Privacy

The Services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
